Frequently asked questions
Does a barrel sauna need a foundation?
It needs a level, load-bearing base: gravel, pavers or a slab. It does not need a poured foundation, but it must not sit directly on soil or grass.
How long does a barrel sauna take to heat?
Usually well under an hour with a correctly sized heater, and faster than a square cabin of the same capacity because there is less air to heat.
Do barrel saunas work through winter?
Yes. Every barrel we carry is built for year-round outdoor use. In very cold climates, size the heater at the upper end of its range.
How do I pay?
Card or bank transfer (ACH), both at checkout. Stripe handles the payment, so your card details never reach us. A transfer takes a day or two longer to clear, and on a large order it is the one we prefer.
Can you install it?
In the Bay Area, yes. Your Saunas is a licensed general contractor, CSLB #1150020, so the carpentry and the electrical are the same crew rather than two trades blaming each other. Further afield we ship and you bring your own installer. Call (707) 625-5555 before you order if you want the install quoted with the sauna.
