Everything for your sauna
Backyard Wellness Zones

Backyard Wellness Zones
in the Bay Area

Sauna, cold plunge, shower, decking and landscaping — designed and built as one project by one licensed team — start to finish.

Your recovery ritual, steps from the door

A wellness zone is your own recovery ritual, a few steps from the back door — heat, then cold, then a warm shower under the open sky, all in one quiet corner of the yard.

We design and build the whole thing as a single project: an outdoor sauna, a cold plunge, a shower, the deck underfoot and the landscaping and lighting that tie it together. We build these for homes across the Peninsula and Silicon Valley — Atherton, Hillsborough, Los Altos, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Saratoga — and throughout the Bay Area. Everything is engineered for our coastal climate: morning fog, salt air, hillside drainage, and the setbacks and HOA rules that come with these lots.

And because we hold the general, electrical and HVAC licenses ourselves, one team handles every part of it — the structure, the wiring for your chiller and heater, the ventilation, the plumbing coordination. No handoffs, no managing three contractors, no "go find your own electrician."

What's included · the build

Heat, cold, shower, deck — one project.

01

Site, foundation & layout

We lay out the zone for flow (sauna → plunge → shower) and pour the foundations it needs — a pad under the sauna, a level, drained base under the plunge (water is heavy; it needs real support). GC, in-house.

02

Sauna

Custom outdoor cabin in weather-sealed cedar or spruce, marine-grade hardware, glass for the view, benches and heater sized to the room. Standalone cabins →

03

Cold plunge & cold therapy

Plunge tub set on its base, with a chiller, filtration and circulation plumbed and wired in-house — sized so it holds cold, runs quietly, and stays clean without you babysitting it.

04 · C-10

Electrical — in-house

Dedicated circuits for the chiller, the sauna heater and the landscape lighting; GFCI protection; sealed, exterior-rated wiring throughout. No outside electrician, no scheduling gaps.

05

Plumbing — coordinated

Supply, drainage and the shower, run and coordinated under our GC scope so the plunge fill/drain, filtration loop and shower all tie in cleanly to one plan.

06 · C-20

Ventilation & HVAC

Correct intake and exhaust for the sauna, so the heat is even and the build stays dry and long-lasting.

07

Shower

An outdoor shower beside the plunge, plumbed for warm and cold, so the contrast ritual finishes right where it should.

08

Decking & landscaping

The deck or stone underfoot, plus the planting, screening and grading that turn a slab in the yard into a place you actually want to be.

09

Lighting

Low-glare path and feature lighting wired in-house, so the zone works at dawn and after dark.

10

Finish & walkthrough

We commission the sauna and plunge together, show you the controls and care routine, balance the chiller, and hand over a clean site.

Enhancements we love: glass walls for Bay or garden views · fog-resistant vestibule · weather-tight audio · integration with an existing pool or hot tub if you already have one.

The moat

One team — for the whole zone.

A wellness zone isn't one trade — it's structure, electrical, ventilation, plumbing and landscaping, all in one footprint. Most installers can't build that. Resellers drop a sauna kit and a plunge tub and leave you to hire and schedule an electrician, a plumber and a landscaper — and to referee when something doesn't line up. We don't.

YOURSAUNAS holds the General Contractor, Electrical (C-10) and HVAC (C-20) licenses in-house, and coordinates the plumbing under our own GC scope — so the foundation, the sauna, the chiller wiring, the ventilation, the shower and the deck are all built and stood behind by one accountable team, under one set of permits. One point of contact. Cleaner inspections. No finger-pointing between trades. And the sauna heater runs a full test-fire before we call it done.

Wellness zone FAQ

Good questions, straight answers.

A backyard wellness zone is a sauna plus everything around it — cold plunge, shower, decking and landscaping — designed and built as one project instead of separate contractors. YOURSAUNAS scopes each zone to your yard and handles the structure, electrical, plumbing coordination and ventilation with one licensed team (GC · C-10 · C-20), so it all fits and works together.

What's included in a turnkey backyard wellness zone?
Everything that makes it work as one space: an outdoor sauna, a cold plunge, an outdoor shower, the decking underfoot, and the landscaping and lighting around it. We design it, pour the foundations, frame and finish the sauna, set and plumb the plunge, run all the electrical and ventilation in-house, coordinate the plumbing, and build the deck — then commission it and walk you through it. One project, one team, one number to call.
How is the cold plunge water chilled, filtered and plumbed?
The plunge runs on a chiller that holds your set temperature — typically in the 40s°F — paired with filtration and circulation so the water stays clean and clear without constant draining. We size the chiller to your plunge and climate, plumb the fill, drain and filtration loop, and wire the chiller on its own circuit under our C-10. It's built to run quietly and reliably for years, not to be a science project you manage every week.
Do you handle the electrical AND the plumbing yourselves?
The electrical, yes — entirely in-house. We hold the C-10 electrical license, so the chiller, the sauna heater and the lighting are all wired by our own team, under our own C-10 license. The plumbing — the plunge fill and drain, the filtration loop and the shower — is run and coordinated under our General Contractor scope, on one plan with everything else. You're never the one chasing a separate electrician or plumber to make the pieces fit.
Are decking and landscaping really part of the build, or do I hire that separately?
Part of the build. A wellness zone that ends at a bare slab isn't finished. As the GC we build the deck or stonework underfoot and handle the landscaping, screening, grading and lighting that turn the installation into a place you want to spend time. You can scope it up or down — but you don't have to bring in a separate landscaper and coordinate them yourself.
What are the benefits of contrast and cold therapy — and why build sauna and plunge together?
Contrast therapy is the cycle people come for: heat in the sauna to relax and open up, then a cold plunge to sharpen and recover, often repeated, finished with a warm shower. Built side by side, the ritual flows — heat, cold, rinse, repeat — without trekking across the yard. People build these for recovery after training, for sleep, for stress, and honestly for the ritual of it. We design the layout so the sequence feels natural and the cold is steps from the heat.
How long does a wellness zone take, and what about permits or HOA approval?
A full zone is a bigger build than a single sauna — typically several weeks from design sign-off, depending on foundations, the plunge and chiller, and how much decking and landscaping are involved. Permits are usually required for the structure, the electrical and the plumbing, and HOA review may apply to setbacks or visibility. Because we're the licensed GC and hold the electrical and HVAC licenses ourselves, we pull the permits and carry the inspections in-house — one clean process instead of three contractors filing separately. We give you a clear timeline up front.
