YOURSAUNAS is a licensed design-build company, and service is a real part of what we do: we diagnose and repair saunas across the Peninsula and the wider Bay Area — Atherton, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Menlo Park, Hillsborough, Saratoga, Marin — no matter who built it or which brand it is. Electric or wood-burning, kit or custom, ours or someone else's.
Because we hold the general, electrical and HVAC licenses ourselves, we can do the one thing most resellers can't: actually open it up, test the wiring, and fix it — instead of selling you a part and sending you off to find your own electrician.

Won't heat / heater not firing
No heat, trips the breaker, or fires and quits. We test the heater, element, contactor and circuit and find the actual fault before we quote a fix.
Heating elements & stones
Burnt-out or corroded elements replaced; old, crumbled stones cleared and re-laid the right way for even heat and airflow.
Controls & thermostat faults
Won't turn on, won't hold temperature, timer or digital panel dead or throwing errors. We repair or replace the control and re-calibrate it.
Wiring & electrical faults — in-house
Loose, undersized, scorched or non-code wiring, failing GFCI, bad heater hookup. We diagnose and re-wire it ourselves under our own electrical license — no outside electrician, no "call your guy."
Door & glass out of true
Sagging or sticking doors, blown seals, foggy or cracked glass, latches and hinges re-hung so it shuts tight and seals the heat in.
Ventilation issues
Uneven heat, stuffy or smoky rooms, weak löyly — fixed with correct intake and exhaust.
Leaks & moisture
Water intrusion, soft or stained wood, failing finishes on outdoor and indoor builds — traced to the source and sealed.

Common problems
What's usually behind it
A sauna tends to tell you what's wrong — if you can read the signs. Here are the problems we're called for most, what's typically behind each, and what a fix involves. A proper diagnostic confirms which before anyone quotes a repair, so you're fixing what's actually wrong, not a guess.
It won't heat at all
Usually a failed heating element, a tripped or faulty contactor, a dead control, or a fault on the 240V circuit. We test each in turn to find which — often it's one inexpensive part, not the whole heater.
It keeps tripping the breaker
A heater is a heavy 240V load, so a repeated trip points to a failing element, a ground fault, a GFCI at the end of its life, or an undersized circuit. It's a wiring-side diagnosis — and the part most sellers can't legally touch.
It heats, but never gets hot enough
Commonly an aging element losing output, crumbled or badly-laid stones choking airflow, weak ventilation, or a door and seals leaking heat. Often the cheapest fixes on the list — stones and seals — recover a lot of heat.
It won't hold temperature
Typically a failing thermostat or sensor, a control that's drifting out of calibration, or a sensor placed or fouled so it misreads the room. We test, then re-calibrate or replace the control.
The door won't seal, or the glass is foggy
Doors drift out of true over the years — sagging hinges, worn seals, a frame that's shifted — and heat leaks out. Re-hanging the door and replacing seals or glass usually brings it right back.
It smells musty or shows water damage
Moisture that isn't drying out — often weak ventilation, a failing exterior finish, or a leak. We trace it to the source, dry and seal it, and fix the venting so it doesn't come back.
Most of these come down to a single part, not a new sauna. The one exception worth respecting: anything on the 240V circuit isn't a DIY job — that's the side a licensed check exists for (our 240V guide explains why). And if a repair genuinely doesn't pencil out, we'll say so and talk replacement straight.
The moat
We hold the C-10 — we can actually rewire it.
Here's what makes a sauna repair different from any other appliance: the heart of it is a high-draw 240V circuit. Most companies that sell saunas aren't licensed for that — so when the fault is in the wiring, the heater hookup or the GFCI, they hand you a part and tell you to "coordinate with your own electrician." That's two trades, two schedules, and nobody who owns the whole problem.
YOURSAUNAS holds the General Contractor, Electrical (C-10) and HVAC (C-20) licenses in-house. We can legally open it up, test it, and re-wire it ourselves — heater circuit, controls, ventilation and structure all under one accountable team. One visit, one number — and we stand behind the fix.
