Who repairs and builds saunas in Sausalito?
YOURSAUNAS does both. We are a licensed California general contractor (CSLB license #1150020, Class B) based in neighboring Mill Valley, and one crew handles the whole sauna: the structure, the 240V circuit, the ventilation, the heater and the controls. That matters most when something is already wrong, because a sauna that will not heat can be a heater problem, a control problem or a wiring problem, and we are equipped to trace all three.
Saunas often outlast both the company that installed them and the equipment it used. We service any brand. If the part you need is discontinued, we look for a compatible replacement before anyone suggests replacing the whole sauna.
And when you want a new one, we design and build it: an indoor room, an outdoor cabin on a hillside deck, or a kit you have already bought, assembled and wired.

Sauna inspection and a replacement control panel, June 2026
We carried out a full inspection of an existing sauna, then sourced and fitted a replacement control panel for a Finnleo/TyloHelo Pure 2.0, a discontinued model. The sauna stayed; the part that had failed was replaced.
Sausalito homes and what they mean for a sauna
Sausalito is a waterfront town built up a steep hillside, and both halves of that description matter.
Salt air and wind off the bay. An outdoor sauna near the water lives in moist, salty air. Hardware should be corrosion-resistant, exterior wood needs a finish that is maintained on a schedule, and the heater and controls belong somewhere they stay dry. Stairs, decks and tight access. Many Sausalito homes are reached by long flights of steps, and level yard space is rare. That often points to an indoor sauna, or to a cabin built on a deck that can carry it. Every board and the heater have to be carried in, so we plan the access before we plan the room.

Sauna permits in Sausalito
A new 240V circuit needs an electrical permit, and whether a sauna structure needs a building permit depends on its size, whether it is attached and where it sits on the lot. Sausalito's permits are handled by the city's Building Division, and the city states that all building permit applications are submitted and processed electronically. For what requires a permit, the city points applicants to its local building ordinances and the municipal code.

My house is up a long flight of stairs. Can you still build a sauna?
Usually, yes. Access changes the plan, not the answer: materials and the heater get carried in, and the sauna may go indoors or on a deck rather than in a yard. We look at the route on the first visit.
How do I protect an outdoor sauna from Sausalito’s salt air?
Choose corrosion-resistant hardware and an exterior finish meant for a coastal site, keep the controls out of the weather, and maintain the finish on a schedule. We build that way from the start.
How are sauna permits filed in Sausalito?
