Who builds turnkey saunas in Los Altos?

YOURSAUNAS, a licensed California general contractor (CSLB #1150020) based in Mill Valley. In May 2026 we built a turnkey Finnleo sauna in Los Altos, 5'11" x 6'5", and installed its heater and controls. We also design custom indoor and outdoor saunas here, assemble kits you have already bought, and service existing ones.

Turnkey is a word that gets used loosely, so here is what we mean by it. One contract covers everything between an empty space and a sauna you can switch on: the layout, the base or the framing, the cabin, the heater, the control panel, the dedicated circuit, the ventilation and the final walkthrough where we bring it to temperature with you. You do not hire an electrician separately or work out which part is whose problem.

What we have built in Los Altos

    Turnkey Finnleo sauna, 5’11" x 6’5", May 2026

A Finnleo sauna built turnkey for a Los Altos home, 5'11" x 6'5", with the heater and the controls installed.

Those dimensions are a useful reference when you are deciding how big yours should be: just under six feet by six and a half.

Choosing the size and the spot in Los Altos

Size comes first, because it sets almost everything else: the heater, the circuit, the wood and the price. The right size depends on how many people will use it at once and whether anyone wants to lie down. Our guide on what size sauna you need goes through it with real dimensions.

The spot comes next. Many Los Altos homes sit on generous lots, with room for an outdoor cabin, and remodels and rebuilds are common, which can make an indoor sauna part of a larger plan. An indoor room is sheltered and close to a shower; an outdoor cabin is a separate place to go, with a garden around it. If you are torn, indoor vs outdoor lays out the trade-offs.

Then the electrical. On older homes the panel may have little room left for a heater circuit, and on a remodel it is far cheaper to plan the sauna's circuit in while the walls are open. We check the panel on the first visit so it is not a surprise later. The 240V guide explains why it matters.

If you would rather choose a ready-made room than design one, a kit from a brand like Finnleo can still be delivered turnkey: we assemble it, wire it and commission it as one job. Our kit vs custom guide helps decide between the two.

Sauna permits in Los Altos

A sauna's new 240V circuit needs an electrical permit, and whether the structure needs a building permit depends on its size, whether it is attached and where it sits on the lot. We confirm the specifics with the Los Altos building department before any work starts, and as a licensed general contractor we file the permits our work needs. The general rules are in the Bay Area permit guide.

Los Altos sauna FAQ

Los Altos questions, straight answers.

What does a turnkey sauna include?

Everything from layout to first heat-up under one contract: base or framing, the cabin, heater, controls, the dedicated circuit, ventilation and a walkthrough. The Los Altos Finnleo we finished in May 2026 was built that way.

How big should our sauna be?

It depends on how many people will use it and whether anyone wants to lie down. For reference, the sauna we built in Los Altos is 5'11" x 6'5"; our sizing guide covers smaller and larger rooms.

We are remodeling. Should the sauna be part of it?

If you are opening walls anyway, it is the best time: the circuit, the blocking and the vapor barrier go in once. We can work alongside your remodel or take the sauna on as its own scope.

Can you install a Finnleo kit we bought ourselves?

Yes, and any other brand. Prefab assembly starts from $1,490, with electrical quoted separately.

Do you work in Palo Alto, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara too?

Yes. We have quoted sauna projects in all three, with the same crew and the same process as in Los Altos.
